4 Steps to Help You Use Aloe Vera for Acne

1. Treating acne with aloe vera

Get aloe vera.
You can buy aloe vera plants or buy pre-made aloe vera gel. Your local factory store should have aloe vera plants, and most pharmacies and grocery stores have pre-made aloe vera gels.
To extract the gel from the leaves, you need to cut a suitable size leaf from the aloe vera plant. It should be about 5-6 inches long. Wash the leaves with water and cut them longitudinally in half with a knife. Use a spoon or knife to poke as much gel as possible.

2. Test a small amount of aloe vera on the skin.

Before applying, you should always try a small amount of gel from commercial products in plants or small areas. You need to make sure that you are not allergic or sensitive to plants. It belongs to the same plant family as lily, onion and garlic, so if you respond to these plants, you are likely to respond to aloe.
Either way, try the gel on your wrist, let it dry, then rinse off. If it is not red, itchy or swollen, you can try it on your face.

3. Use aloe vera for spot treatment.

Take 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel and add 2 to 3 drops of lemon juice. Lemon juice helps maintain the pH of the skin. Mix well.
Apply the mixture directly to the acne using the Q-tip. Let it stay on your face for at least 20-30 minutes or overnight.
Rinse with warm water and wash as usual.
Repeat every day.

4. Use aloe vera to make a mask.

Cut from the aloe vera plant to two pieces of approximately 6 inches of leaves and trim the spikes along the sides of the leaves. Cut the leaves and pour out the gel.
Add 1 teaspoon of honey (honey has extra antibacterial properties) or 5 to 7 drops of lemon juice to the aloe vera gel. [4] Mix any additives thoroughly into the gel.
Apply the gel to the face or apply the mixture directly on the acne using the Q-tip.
If possible, leave the gel overnight, but at least 20-30 minutes.
Rinse with warm water and wash as usual.
Repeat every day.
